How this calculator works
Energy (kWh) = watts ÷ 1,000 × hours/day × days/month × equipment count × duty percentage. Multiply by price per kWh for cost. Annual cost assumes twelve months with the same usage. Appliance duty cycle estimates are not a substitute for metered energy.
Use current quotes, local rates, and measured dimensions to make this estimate useful for your situation.
Frequently asked questions
Does this include the whole utility bill?+
No. It estimates usage-based charges for the equipment entered. Fixed charges, tiered pricing, taxes, and demand charges may add to the bill.
How should I model a refrigerator or air conditioner?+
Use measured kWh if available, or adjust duty cycle to reflect on/off operation. Rated wattage times every hour can overestimate cycling loads.
