Wallpaper Calculator
Estimate whole wallpaper rolls using wall height, roll size, and pattern-repeat losses.

How this calculator works
Drop length = wall height + trim, rounded up to a whole pattern-repeat multiple. Full strips per roll = floor(roll length ÷ matched drop length). Required strips = ceiling(wall length × waste factor ÷ roll width). Divide strips by strips per physical roll and round up. Openings are reported separately because they rarely eliminate an entire full-height strip.
Use current quotes, local rates, and measured dimensions to make this estimate useful for your situation.
Frequently asked questions
Why does pattern repeat change the quantity?+
Matching requires each strip to begin at the correct pattern position. Rounding drop length to repeat multiples wastes some roll length.
Can I subtract doors and windows?+
Net area subtracts standard openings, but roll purchasing remains conservative because strips above/below openings and matching still require material. Confirm a cutting layout before reducing your order.
